![]() Study MLLC provides a variety of different programs throughout the year that aid in the spiritual growth of members and visitors in their walk with God. The following are a few of the study programs available at MLLC: New Member Orientation The New Member Orientation class, called "From Membership to Discipleship," is held quarterly. The next class will be on September 23, 2007 Bible 101 This course is designed to study all basic aspects of the Bible, from the history and the books of the Bible, to daily reading of the Bible for growing Christians. From the absolute novice, or for those wanting a refresher course, this class explores topics such as how to purchase your own Bible, how to use the Bible as a resource for devotionals and how to use the Bible in development of your own prayer life. Discovering Your Spiritual Gifts An eight week course that helps each individual discover their natural talents and how these talents fit into the needs of the church. Adult Studies Held each Sunday between services, this class examines a wide range of topics. The class is held in Classroom 2. Women's Bible Study The Women's Bible Study meets on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Join anytime. The current study is an 8 week program entitled "Bad Girls of the Bible". Alpha Alpha is a great opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for your life today. Alpha is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity that is enjoyed and appreciated as much by those who have never previously set foot in a church and regular church goers. Each week people meet together for a meal, a talk on topics, followed by small group interaction. Child care is available where the kids join in the fun via ALPHA Sprouts. New Shepherd Group If you've attended an Alpha course, then you know what a life-changing experience it is! Welcome to Phase 2 of Alpha! The New Shepherd Group is for those who have experienced Alpha, or for those who would like to try something different! SHARE a meal, WORSHIP through singing, LISTEN to a faith-inspired live talk, followed by group discussion and PRAYER time. Faith-inspired talks are scheduled, and group members are welcome to share their own faith experiences by giving a talk, if they have a message they want to share. Wednesday Bible Study This class meets at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday mornings in Classroom 2. New participants welcome! Studies range from specific Bible Studies to current events & topics related to growth and development within a Christian framework. Sunday School Dedicated teachers provide our children with opportunities to learn and grow in their faith experience. Sunday school classes are held from 9:45 to 10:45. Catechism/Confirmation Class If your child is ready for Confirmation Classes, please call our church office at 816-524-2540. Classes are held each fall, beginning in September. Classes are held on Wednesday evenings. Young Adult Class As confirmed “adults” of the congregation, these young adults are welcome to join our adult class, but often find a great sense of belonging in this Young Adult class, targeted to their age group. During regular breakfast outings, they discuss current events in their lives, the community, and the world at large. They learn how to lead-faith based lives in response to some of the issues and concerns that they face as young adults. This group meets on Sunday morning from 9:45 to 10:45. Vacation Bible School This program is
targeted to the
children of our congregation, as well as to visitors. Our
experienced teachers aid in the kids’ understanding of the
Bible
and help to bring the lessons home to their own lives.
